Garmin Instinct 2X Solar and Tactical Edition model now available in Singapore - HardwareZone

Garmin Singapore announced the availability and pricing of its latest Instinct 2 smartwatches, the Instinct 2X Solar and Instict 2X Solar - Tactical Edition.

Both smartwatches are built to U.S military standards (MIL-STD-810) for thermal shock and water resistance up to 10 ATM. They also come with a chemically strengthened, scratch-resistant Power Glass lens. The lens are able to produce 50% more energy than the standard Instinct 2 solar watches, hence extending the battery life of the new models.

The Garmin Instinct 2X Solar and the Tactical Edition model have an integrated LED flashlight with variable intensities. In strobe mode, the LED flashlight will match a running cadence and alternate between white and red.

Obstacle Course Racing activity is also introduced for the first time on the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar models. They feature running segments and obstacles of different types, and enable athletes to manually record obstacle splits and automatically track the remaining laps once they are marked for the first lap.

Other features of the new smartwatches include 24/7 Health and Wellness Tracking, built-in sports apps, Heart Rate Variability, multi-band GNSS Support for improved positional accuracy, 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter, Garmin Pay and Connect IQ app integration.

The Tactical Edition has features specific to tactical operations such as Jumpmaster and tactical preloaded activities, projected waypoints, dual-position GPS formatting and Night-Vision compatibility.

Users of the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar - Tactical Edition have the option to enable Stealth Mode, which prevents the sharing of GPS position and wireless communication. While GPS location is visible on the watch face, the data is not saved to the device memory or shared. This allows users to train in areas with location security concerns.

Available now at Amazon, Lazada, Shopee, Garmin Online Store and all authorised retailers, the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar is priced at S$689 while the Tactical Edition model is priced at S$759.
